Morituri skins Updated
Mar 13th
Thanks to the kindness of President Raygun(n) and Bloodshadow, FRP2 now has access to all 11 skins of these characters skinned by Akyron. If you have already downloaded the zip from our skins page, you’ll need to download it again as it has been updated to include the missing skins. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Road to Crisis: Aftermath
Jan 20th
The journey to Crisis might have been completed, but this modder still had a few stories left in him to tell. Crisis presented a great opportunity to have the DC and Marvel universes intertwine once more, but instead of losing focus on the heroes and having the villains drive the plot, the aftermaths brought attention to individual teams and characters back into the forefront. Of course, it was very important to me that I got around to tying up a few loose ends, and if I had to use Claremont’s Exiles to do so, then so be it.
The Road to Crisis, Pt. 2
Jan 18th
The road to Crisis was a year in the making, and I probably drove myself insane trying to get it done. Here’s part 2 of the retrospective piece where you’ll learn how the threat of the Renegades began to alter time in the Marvel Universe.
The Power of Impact
Jan 17th
Oh, you know you’re making some type of impact when you have others following your lead. This isn’t a post to toot our own collective horn or anything, but over the past week, two new Freedom Force blogs have joined our ranks. If you’ve the time and curiosity, we’d like to ask you to check them out. First up, we have the Greylands run by fellow modder, Benton Grey, we he let’s us into his mind to see some projects he’d like to tackle. Secondly, we have Crimsonquill’s new blog where he shows off his first forays into skoping. Enjoy!
The Road to Crisis
Jan 17th
Ahhh, I’ve been in a really retrospective mood lately, so I decided to slow down the blog and take a look into the past. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but my biggest and longest mod happened to be a little thing called “Crisis: DC/Marvel Alliance.” If it’s not obvious from the name alone, it involved a crossover between companies and an event type crisis. Not rocket science, right? So, what was the stimulus that resulted in this mod being green-lighted? I can honestly tell you that it wasn’t just one thing, and it was built up over several projects I had completed at the time. Follow me, dear readers, as we go through my time capsule.
A Modder’s Trends
Jan 11th
I don’t know if you guys have noticed it, but I have developed quite a few small trends in the mods I’ve done for special events. I’ve done three thus far, and you might remember them (G’day, Wolverine, and Hydra), but they ALL share a few glaring similarities. Can you figure out what they might be, gangers? Hint: It’s not the heroes involved.
Out with the Old, In with the New
Jan 4th
So, if you haven’t noticed, FRP2 got a little revamp as of yesterday, and I must say that we’re feeling kinda snazzy. Eh, you all know that old saying right? “Out with the old and in with the new!” Well consider this update just that. The old theme served us very well, but sometimes you just want to flash it up a little bit; but before we completely disown 2009 and the years prior to it, why don’t we take a little looksy into Freedom Force’s past with this video. Stop me if you’ve seen it before.
The First Mod of the Year!
Jan 1st
Ahhh, the first day of 2010, and what could be better than ushering it in than with the first FFVTTR [mini] mod of the year? Tell me if you can think of anything better to cleanse your palate with because I certainly can’t. If you missed my last post, then I’ll reiterate the basics of it here. Both Angel and Psylocke have both had it pretty tough in 2009, so why not end it off on a high note by doing some charity for a bunch of kids? Well, too bad that didn’t work out. You know how that goes.
X-men: No Lost Cause
- This mini mod features both Angel and Psylocke in the main character role. Psylocke happens to get a little more spotlight than Warren, however.
- Although the mod is ONE (1) mission, you do have the opportunity to use your own custom characters (20000 prestige worth) in the alternate version of the mission.
- This minimod does lean itself towards the difficult side, so I definitely wouldn’t suggest playing above NORMAL setting unless you’re a sucka for pain.
- The mod comes with an exta command for Psylocke to augment her speed and strength during the mission. Make considerable use of it; it’ll literally save your day.
- The mod also comes with custom Psylocke keys by Detourne_me and a custom skope (hydra_bazooka) by Area34.
- As a bonus, I included the majority of my fx in the mod as well. That’s right, you get over 200 fx already installed. Fun for all, right?
Mmk, enough talk. If you want the mod, you can grab it here. Enjoy, leave comments (here or on FR), and let me know if you have any issues.
2009, Whatta Year (And Surprise)!
Dec 30th
2009, what a year, am I right? It’s been a year of trials and tribulations, growth and learning experiences, and things that forced you to break out of your shell and do something new. How funny, if you think about it, I’m also describing the events of the X-men. Even funnier, I’m specifically describing two X-men in particular: Psylocke and Angel. How ironic is that… or maybe it’s just a coincidence that the “X”-lovers also happen to have similarities in their experiences this year. So what better way to end the year than to bring those two non-lovebirds back together for a one-off mission set in current day Marvel? I can’t think of anything better, and apparently they couldn’t either. Pics after the jump.
JLA/Avengers: The Prelude
Nov 6th
I know this is an older video from earlier this year, but what’s the harm in showing it off to get it and BinaryPictureShow some more feedback and love? You might recall that he/they also put together another video last year that revolved around a scene from Marvel’s Civil War. I think a lot of good effort went into it, and hopefully you guys that haven’t seen it yet will enjoy it as well. If you like it, leave a comment; if you don’t, then don’t. I mean really, it’s not rocket science.
