UDCU: Where art thou?
Aug 25th
As you may, or may not have noticed, the UDCU page is down. It’s because I hate all of you. I’m under valued, under appreciated, and under paid. I demand monies via PayPal! Shower me with flowers and introduce me to your sisters (if they are of age).
All kidding aside, the site will be down while it goes through some maintenance. The urge to continue and finish this project has been itching me for a while. That said, when the site’s up and running again, it’ll have improved content (updated/new skins).
I did want to run a contest on designs for Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter. What do you guys think would be a serviceable prize to the winner of such a contest?
I’ll end this post with a small preview:
The End of FRPMods?!
Aug 25th
Yes, FRPMods, the original site, is now offline. It had a good run, but I truly believe the site died off completely after it was transitioned into the remaining members hands. Updates began to come in slowly, our ranks were thin, we had issues with the site’s host, which led to constant crashing, and modding was at an all time low. It’s unfortunate, but it also led to the creation of its successor… this blog/website hybrid that has seen more life in its one year than FRPMods saw in its last few years. Many thanks to Mike (& the original FRPers), Lude (where you at?), Cmdrkoenig, Beyonder, and even Ow_Tiobe for all the help they gave in keeping the site going as long as long as it did.
Unfortunately, with that site being dead, FXForce and a few links here will also be affected. A few members and myself are working on a backup right now to remedy as many issues as we can. Until that time, keep on checking us out. And if you could, any broken links you find, please report here, or on the Wave, or on Freedom Reborn. Thanks.
John Jr. Presents: LoSH skopes and Skins!
Aug 22nd
It’s been a while since our last content update, and truthfully, this should have been up awhile ago, only I’ve been a little too busy to update the site like I used to. That’s my bad, and I apologize to JJ for making him (and you lovely downloaders) wait as long as I did. With that out of the way, I present to you some of JJ’s latest contribution to the FF circuit. Please enjoy.

Bombs Away
Aug 7th
Thanks to an old mesher buddy (Syn), I’ve finally gotten a chance to work on an FX I wanted to put out years ago, a bomb, which should be a nice alternative to all the grenade tossing the game left us with by default. I made three variants of the bomb right out the gate, just to provide some diversity (and to cross one off my list). Check ‘em out below and then go download them off the FX page, if you fancy them.

The Lack of Updates…
Jul 17th
Sorry to say it, guys, but FRP is more or less on a bit of sabbatical. Shh, dry those tears. It’s not because we don’t like providing you guys with awesome content for your amusement, but because we’ve all been a little bit busy with RL (real life) and other personal projects which may or may not be related to Freedom Force. On my end, writing has come into the forefront and FF had slid towards the bottom of my things to contribute towards, but don’t you worry, I might have something coming your way soon. And just to tease a little more, I know my fellow site mate, Cmdrkoenig, will probably be ready to tease some awesome things in the near future. A lot of awesome things… full of awesomeness that’ll make you mansplode all over the place. Oi, that sounded messy… and wrong… *shrugs*. Anyway, that’s the news for now. We hope to be back with some all new features soonish unless, of course, robots begin to rule the world!
Using m25 AI in mods
Jul 13th
Since this has been asked a few times, I’m going to put it on the blog so that it’s easily findable in the future.
How do you use m25′s AI in a mod or campaign setting?
Simple, dear asker. Just follow these steps:
- Import the FFX module using the following command:
from ffx import * - Under your OnPostInit() section, add the following lines of code:
setMission(numerical value),InitScripts(), andFFX_InitMission()
- Still under OnPostInit(), add the following lines of code:
- And when you’re ready to activate the custom AI, call
SetupAI()with the appropriate character name.
heroes = getAllHeroes() for h in heroes: SetupAI(h) AIDisableCustom(h)
The completed file will look similarly to this:
# Sample
from cshelper import *
from ffx import *
def OnPostInit():
print "start"
setMission(1)
InitScripts()
FFX_InitMission()
heroes = getAllHeroes()
for h in heroes:
SetupAI(h)
AIDisableCustom(h)
def super(event):
m25ai.SetupAI('superguy')
That’s the gist of it, but if you want to know more about this process and what other commands you’re able to use, check out this thread: Using m25 AI. Hope this helps.
Skinning Tutorial: Logo
Jun 24th
Prev mentioned I should demonstrate my process for creating logos for my skins, so I did… in a very brief manner. It starts in Adobe Illustrator and ends in Adobe Photoshop.

Hark! The Mighty Mjolnir Comeths!
Jun 22nd
Hey, I said it was coming soon. Now on FRP2, you can grab some updated Thor Hammer Throw FXes. Major thanks to C6 for allowing me to use his textures, Grenadier for making a new Thor mesh, which you can find on Champions, and Renegade for the side throw animation. Outside of putting this pack together and doing some skope and max work (years ago), I take no major credit for these FX.

Three new skopes and impending FX
Jun 22nd
First off the rack, John Jr. has decided to release three new skopes that you can find on our SKOPES page. They are Superboy, Batman, and Bucky Barnes. Go download ‘em and place them in your game for some super heroic fun. You can find some pics of the skopes below. Secondly, thanks to Courtnall6 OKing my usage of his mjolnir TGA, those will be coming out soon. Hopefully, I can come out with another version of it once Det and I bump our heads together. We’ll see. Enjoy!
*Thanks to Chuckles for preview images
Skinning Tutorial: Boots
Jun 15th
John Jr. said:
Murs, how you did the boots of your Red Son Superman? Most of skins (including all of mine) has the boots looking form fitting, like spandex. Your Red Son Supes has a great leather feel and no muscles showing in his boots. How you did that?
