Installation Woes

current mood

Ugh, I’m not usually one to complain about something that I have no way of changing, but good heavens, do I hate the way FFedit is set up when it comes to installing certain things. Ok, that’s not to say that IG didn’t do a good job and us a favor by making an editor, but let’s put it in perspective a bit. Installing a few fx at one time isn’t all that bad, but when you’re trying to install a large collection of things at once, it’s a chore. Too much of a chore. Let’s just say that I’m suffering for the benefit of others… and those others better appreciate it. Could I be hinting at something with this post? Maybe. Did I want to rant? Yes. :P

One out of Five!

Ok, I admit it; I have some strange tastes. With that out of the way, let’s move on. A few years back, X-play made a musical episode about games that relied heavily on music. While I might not think it’s the best thing since sliced bread (why is that so great again?), I DO still like a few of the songs they sang. This, ladies and gentlemen, is one of them. Watchy, watchy, please:

Man-Bot Sketch

It’s no secret that IG has more or less been inactive in the Freedom Force community for the last few years because of certain circumstances that cropped up, but it seems they still have some Freedom Force love in their hearts, as IG artist, Robb Water, has recently sketched the melancholy Man-bot for Game Informer. How did the sketch come out? Well, check it out below and make sure to head to Irrational Games’ new site!

The Power of Impact

Oh, you know you’re making some type of impact when you have others following your lead. This isn’t a post to toot our own collective horn or anything, but over the past week, two new Freedom Force blogs have joined our ranks. If you’ve the time and curiosity, we’d like to ask you to check them out. First up, we have the Greylands run by fellow modder, Benton Grey, we he let’s us into his mind to see some projects he’d like to tackle. Secondly, we have Crimsonquill’s new blog where he shows off his first forays into skoping. Enjoy!

Google Wavin’

So, i recently got an invite into Google Wave, and so far, it’s been a fairly smooth experience. Quite a learning curve though, but thankfully, there are a lot of resources out there that help (like this one) with that. But this isn’t a post to talk about what Google wave is or isn’t capable of, though that might come in the future since many people don’t seem to know about it, but a post to see if anyone out there happens to already have it. If so, let me know, eh?

Math made easy… online?

Math has never been a favorite subject of mine. Ok, well, I’m lying. It actually WAS one of my favorite subjects growing up until I got a certain teacher I just didn’t mesh well with… at all. Bad memories aside, math ceased being fun for me and became a chore that I hated to do. Luckily, I found a tool that helps to make that chore much easier by having the problem solved online. Hey, I’m not advocating cheating, but this little tool solves a great deal of problems you can throw its way, can plot, and even will show you the steps it took for solving the problem so you can try it out yourself. It could actually be a great teaching/study tool for those not so keen on particular math subjects themselves. Need more convincing? Here’s an example:

Just a General F.Y.I.

In case you ever wondered how I might feel about sparkly vampires, this video should be a good indication (courtesy of G4TV):

Remember, when dealing with vampires… use protection.

Chocolate: A Love Affair?

Sometimes, when I’m in a creative zone, I write things that freak me out to a degree. This is one of those times. In an effort to stretch my writing muscle after a few months of inactivity outside of comic, film, and song writing, I decided to give Bluebard’s fiction challenge a try. This… was the result. If you’re wondering, yes, I do sometimes think I fell off the deep end and never recovered. I tend to blame Murs for such things.

JLA/Avengers: The Prelude

I know this is an older video from earlier this year, but what’s the harm in showing it off to get it and BinaryPictureShow some more feedback and love? You might recall that he/they also put together another video last year that revolved around a scene from Marvel’s Civil War. I think a lot of good effort went into it, and hopefully you guys that haven’t seen it yet will enjoy it as well. If you like it, leave a comment; if you don’t, then don’t. I mean really, it’s not rocket science. :-D . Video after the jump.
