Hit snooze, Minor news…

Due to some minor issues, FRP2 will not be getting any updates outside of the Spotlight on UE (which was scheduled for next week). Hopefully, sometime next week, FRP will be getting some new maps, some fx, and perhaps some coding tips to make up for the missed update…on the horizon

Spotlight On: Ultimate Evil

He’s part of the triad that forms the current incarnation of Heroforce 2.0, and he’s particularly well-known for his collection of Bat-family skins. With excellent skills in the arts and a fondness for the He-man universe like no other, we turn the spotlight on Ultimate Evil (A.K.A Flesheater) so that we might better understand his madness.

When it rains, it pours…

This week, we have a bunch of goodies for you FF afficionados to grab. CmdrKoenig has released a whopping 5 new maps for you to play on, Conduit has returned briefly and brings with him a gift of two more maps, a lost FF1 mod–B Brigade–finds a home on the ff1 mods page, and we are proud to present our first “Spotlight” post on one of the top skinners in the FF community, Afghan Ant. Oh, and don’t forget, if you’re interested in python coding your own mods, coding tip 5 is also up. Enjoy the new toys, gang.

Coding Tip #5

Today’s tip:

Let’s say you want a target to teleport to safety when his health drops to a specified point. Well, that’s simple!

Spotlight On: AfghanAnt

We know him as one of the more prominent skinners and member of the FR/FF community and his style has grown and changed tremendously in that time period. He’s brought us top notch skins, great skopes, and enough Thor love to fill Asgard. Now, let’s really get some insight into the guy behind the H.I.V.E World.

Smaller update

Nothing much is going on this week, but you can now grab Syn’s Dr. Strangefate mesh, originally found only in Crisis: DC/Marvel Alliance, and read a highlight post on Aquaman. Fun, right?

Thanks again to Benton for taking on the challenge of defending his favorite character.

Highlight On: Aquaman

It’s no secret that Aquaman gets it rough from the general populace, so I invited one of his biggest fans to answer a few questions regarding the hero as a viable character. That fan is Benton Grey from Freedom Reborn and maker of the DCUG mod for FFvTTR. If you’re interested in hearing his craziness, click the tag. Just a note, it’s a long read, so have a pillow handy. Oh, and like all “Highlight On…” posts, there are a few links to some Aquaman related goodies.

Highlight On: Sub-Mariner

Sub-Mariner: The Depths #1-5

Though his name may hold the title, make no mistake, as this is not a Namor led story. It’s about a man, Dr. Randolph Stein, as he joins a crew of “deep sea men” in the search of Atlantis. Not because he has any interest in finding it, but because he specializes in disproving myths and legends such as that of the legendary abominable snowman. In this Marvel Knights title by Peter Milligan of X-force fame and Art by Esad Ribic, whom you might know from Wolverine, Loki, or Silver Surfer fame, we learn that Namor is not the heroic, but arrogant, man we know of from WWII, but is seemingly a horrible underwater myth. He’s a creature of the night that will do anything to protect his underwater kingdom of Atlantis. And so it begins… More >

Highlight On: X-men First Class

In a world full of darkness, angst, betrayals, and deaths, one X-book stood among them all like a brilliant ray of light that parted the clouds. That book, dear friends, was X-men First Class. Never a heavy book but always consistently well done the whole way through. Relying on the original team of X-men and some of the other heroes of the time, the book served to highlight and move along some of the characters and relationships we don’t get a chance to see in today’s Dark Reign. Small updates…

Another week, another update. This time, you can grab the mission 5 and 6 addon to the X-mod by FFjands, get three new fx, and finally, if you fancy it, read two new coding tips. Enjoy.
